Learned about this restaurant while working at Hale Scout Reservation and had to take my sweetie there on Saturday afternoon after the campers left...it's off the beaten path for sure, about 20 min south of Talahina, but easy to find and worth it! Coming up the pine tree lined drive...the building doesn't look like much...a mid century ranch house conversion...but inside it is all wood paneled, just rustic enough but warm and inviting. Staff was super friendly..and helpful. Liquor options are limited but this doesn't detract and makes running the bar simple. Dinner was served with a mini loaf of fresh bread and whipped butter. It was the perfect size for 2. We had crawfish tails as an appetizer...spot on. These were fried tails only so it wasn't huge, but full of flavor. For entrees we had the lamb fries and the ribeye. The lamb fries were really good, but little heavy on the breading...we would have like a little less breading and a little more meat...but they were still delicious. The ribeye stole the show...perfectly seasoned and cooked...melted in your mouth. For dessert we did bread pudding...Momma's fave, and it was a perfect finish. Please note...the menu also had chicken fry, catfish, burgers...lots of comfort foods...so the menu is balanced for all tastes. This is definitely worth a second visit...and a third...and a fourth!

Wow! This place was fantastic! I had a side salad with ranch which was perfect with that homemade ranch yumminess. Then I decided to try the lamb fries, for the first time and they were great! Look up lamb fries if you're curious. The loaded baked potato was perfect. Other members of our party had the cheese burger, hamburger steak with mushroom gravy and mashed red skin potatoes. Shrimp cocktail was great too. The service was absolutely impeccable and we felt like we were dining with family in a big beautiful cabin on the porch. Mountains and a river is the backdrop of this amazing family meal.
